
The CSULB LGBTQ+ Resource Center and Student Affairs appreciate all those who volunteer to assist us in celebrating the academic accomplishments of all LGBTQIA+ students at the 20th Annual CSULB Lavender Graduation Celebration.
Lavender Graduation Celebration Details
Date: Friday, April
24, 2026
Program Time: 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Volunteer Time: 3:00 - 9:00 PM
Location: College of Business (COB) Lecture Hall 140 and 140A
Shift Information and Roles
3:00 - 4:30 PM - Set Up (decoration, food set up, and registration)
· Example tasks: putting up decorations, setting up clothes and table settings, setting up food for distribution, setting up check-in table and check-in process, beginning to welcome guests and direct them to the check-in table.
4:30 - 6:00 PM - Registration and Food
· Example tasks: Welcome guests, check-in graduates, handing out programs, serving food, directing folks to sit, eat, and enjoy community.
6:00 - 7:30/8:00 PM - Program and Troubleshoot
· Example tasks: Watching program and celebrating, answering questions from guests as needed.
· Key Roles Needed: 2 Readers for graduate names
7:30/8:00 - 9:00 PM - Clean Up
· Example tasks: Taking down decorations, cleaning up any leftover food, etc.
Shift Options
Single Shifts - 1.5 hours
- 3:00 - 4:30 PM (set up)
- 4:30 - 6:00 PM (registration/set up)
- 7:30 - 9:00 PM (clean up)
Staff/Faculty Procession Shifts - 3 hours
- 4:30 - 7:30 PM (set up/registration and procession/program)
- 6:00 - 9:00 PM (procession/program and clean up)
Full Event Shifts - 6 hours
- 3:00 - 9:00 PM (set up/program/clean up)
